A few years back Joe Morris pitched the idea of doing a duo record of improvised music on nylon string guitars. No amps. No picks. Just strings and wood fingers. My answer was an emphatic “Of course”. Joe and I have been playing together for a while now. We first started working together when I was studying at NEC and have kept at it since. This record, recorded over the course of a few Thursday nights in the spring of ’14, captures the state of that work together. The listening is intense as is the playing. As a guitar player who came up listening to Joe’s music in the mid 90’s I am pretty proud of this one. The record is called Storms and it is available now. It is the first release on Joe’s new label for small run, hand-made releases called Glacial Erratic. Get the record on bandcamp or at Squidco or…better yet…pick it up at a show either Joe or I are playing at.
