First off…its been a while since our last meeting and I must say I am very much looking forward to reuniting with the fine folks in Lava Bat this Thursday as part of Joe Morris’ two week run at The Stone. I am honored to be able to take part in this series with such a sick assembly of musicians. Lava Bat is Joe Morris, Mary Halvorson, and myself (guitar), Yasmine Azaiez (violin), and Dave Cordes (bass). Info about The Stone can be found here: http://thestonenyc.com/. Come if you can.
Next…the Meat Foam record should be dropping within a week. Digital copies will be available here. In the meantime…here’s another sample to whet your appetite for the Foam.

Lastly…I am excited to announce that a solo record has been tracked, mixed, and designed. All it needs is some mastering and titles and its done. The record is comprised of a set of ten pieces for solo guitar inspired by the special sort of existential dread that can only come from sitting in no less than two hours of traffic daily for five consecutive days when each of those hours is spanned by eight hours of sitting in a cubicle. Other concerns while developing this material included the necessity (or lack thereof) of a score to legitimize a composition, writer’s block, lazyness in sitting down to learn a score, lazyness in sitting down to write a score, poor reading skills, poor reading habits, development, lack of development, and ruts both real and metaphysical. I would put up a sample but none of the pieces are titled and I wouldn’t want to send any of them out into the world with no clothes on. Anyway…here’s the cover…
