My Secret Safety Word Is…Now Available…

Its been two years in the making. Back in December of 2011, after returning from picking up some sort of bizarre Lithuanian cake that’s cooked on a rotisserie, Nigel Taylor and I set about recording what would be this…our second record under the nom de guerre Joint Raker. Facing down Nigel’s imminent return to Canada it was imperative that we complete tracking before May 2012. And we did.  So here it is. We are pretty pleased with this record (and the art)…so pleased that we pressed 50 copies on compact disc. Grab one while you can…if that’s your thing. Or download it here on the music page or on bandcamp. Or stream it here or on bandcamp.

A funny thing about the cover photo…the concept came from a discussion regarding the relation between noise and S&M imagery. Being one to take a dumb joke too far I proposed we have an album cover depicting a sort of Barney-esque scene (you know…the purple dinosaur) with some dark undertone to it. I pictured blue skies, cherubs, the whole nine yards. Well…after about a year of trying to get the cover together I stumbled on the photo which you see on the cover. It was all there…the blue sky…the strange juxtaposition of creatures…the cherubs. I almost started crying from laughing so hard. I immediately contacted the photographer, Michael Cogliantry, for permission to use the photo. So…that’s that…we hope you enjoy RMF 001…Joint Raker…My Secret Safety Word Is…CDs
